Blarewolf

Alam ‘Blarewolf’ Hernández is a performer and composer based on the Hague, Netherlands. Born in Mexico in 1996, he is currently close to graduating from the Master in Composition at the Royal Conservatoire of the Hague in The Netherlands.

Specialised in rock, orchestral and electronic music, Blarewolf is a multi-diverse creator with an explosive sound and has produced scores, soundtracks and professional records as a composer, as a member of the rock band Alpha Lighting System, and as a solo artist.

As a composer, Blarewolf has collaborated with internationally renown ensembles and artists such as the Residentie Orkest Den Haag, The Residentie Ensemble, and Ensemble Klang, having his works premiered in various cities of The Netherlands and Mexico.

With Alpha Lighting System he has produced five professional albums and collaborated with Billy Sherwood (Yes), Bruce Soord (The Pineapple Thief) and Serj Tankian (System of a Down), performing in world-class rock festivals such as the Progtoberfest in Chicago, USA.

Blarewolf is currently working on the soundtrack for Rearview, an indie racing video game produced by Peruvian indie studio BytePunk Studios.

Latest Release

Mexican rock band Alpha Lighting System highlights the polarities of their musical style in their latest album Dualitas.

Dualitas is a journey from light to darkness inspired by the concepts of duality and balance. Drawing deeply from Latin American rhythms, jazz fusion, and progressive metal, this album ignites a new musical chapter for Alpha Lighting System.

Life.exe - 2018

In 2018, Alpha Lighting System was winner of the 7 Note Music Challenge organized by Serj Tankian (System of a Down).

In this challenge, Tankian challenged musicians from all over the world to compose a full song based on a previously composed melody.

Pleias - 2021

A seven-movement suite for piano and percussion inspired on the star cluster of the Pleiades, an prevalent astronomical object in almost every culture on the planet.

The piece was winner of the Second Place of the Italy Percussion Arts Society Composition Competition in 2021.

One Minute symphony- 2023

Together with the Residentie Orkest Den Haag, Alam premiered “8. Oxygene”, a minimalist composition for full orchestra exploring the idea that the air we breathe connects all living creatures on the planet.

NEED FOR SING - 2024

The fusion opera NEED FOR SING is an experimental work for small ensemble, mixed singers and electronics inspired on the loss of identity caused by the overflow of information of our times.

The work was premiered at the National Opera and Ballet in Amsterdam during the Opera Forward Festival 2023.

VEWIN’S
NIGHT OF THE DRINKING WATER

On December 2023, Alam was commissioned to compose a piece for the “Night of the Drinking Water” event in which the Dutch company VEWIN, celebrated the work of their chairman Peter van der Velden.

The piece “Oxidane”, is a piece multimedia piece for piano, violoncello and video based on the vibrational patterns of the water when excited on a surface, a visual technique known as Cymatics.

The piece was premiered at the Diligentia Theater, in The Hague, Netherlands, performed by cellist Alfian Emir Adytia and the composer himself.

Salto de Fe alludes to that leap into the unknown that allows us to overcome the uncertainty we feel when a new path presents itself before us.

Inspired by the music of Tears for Fears and jazz fusion, Alpha Lighting System employs a dreamlike atmosphere to capture the insecurity and doubt that accompany the decision-making moments in our lives.

INDIE FILM MUSIC CONTEST

As an exercise for improving his craft in soundtrack composition, Alam participated in the international competition Indie Film Music Contest in two consecutive years, being placed among the top 30 in both editions.

Shore Drive is a song which talks about about the sensation of fulfilment. This sensation is a deceiver, as it appears to never be attained. Do we really never reach what we pursue or do we already have all what we need right here and now?
